A long time dream of Mr. Tomas Dulatas to put up an educational institution became a reality when he and a friend, Eduardo dela Cruz found an abandoned restaurant. La Cabecera in the heart of Malabon City.
Immediately he set a meeting on Feb. 24, 2004 with the owner. Mrs. Ofelia E. Gamilla and was able to convince her to convert it to a prestigious affordable school to help a community. He planned the next meeting with some proposals to Ms. Josefina V. Santiago, the Principal of I.S. Montessori Bocaue, Bulacan who served as the school's consultant.
Feasibility studies were made and the finally the Board of Trustees was organized. Mission and Vision of the school were formulated.
Renovation of the building took place. Purchase of books and other needed Montessori materials followed.Hiring and training of teachers were religiously done by Ms. Josefina V. Santiago. On the other hand, Mrs. Rufina M. Nicolas took charge of the interview of teachrs and pupils.
Massive strategies like house to house campaign with fliers, telemarketing and motorcade were utilized , hence, enrollees started to pur in.
Free summer classes for four (4) Saturdays were ofered to Pre-schoolers who wanted to experience Motessori approach. The school officially opened on June 10, 2004 with thirty-nine (39) pupils fom Junior Casa to Grade II and four (4) teachers. With proper guidance of Ms. Josefina V. Santiago, as the Administrator and Mrs. Rufina M. Nicolas as the Principal. The school produced sixteen (16) Advanced Casa graduates for the School Year 2004 - 2005.
The school is now on its way to progress, its curriculum and program instruction are continously updated to meet the increasing demand of quality education. It hopes to maintain its status as one of the best institutions that caters the needs to improve the academic moral and spiritual upliftment of the learners. La Cabecera de Montessori of Malabon City is here to stay and make a difference in the educational system of this country.
